Figma 227 Fate/Stay Night Saber 2.0 review

The first time i know about the figure series called "Figma" was when i  started to googling for any saber figure on 2013 and found this Saber Figma 003.

(pic taken from google)

But i'm not yet have any credit card etc.. to buy through any online store. So i can bought some stuff only when i visited a local hobby store, and they didn't sell any Saber Figma.

When i was legal enough to get a credit card, her price was already so high. Maybe that was also because this Figma itself was released on 2011.. Thus leaving me with despair. (/T_T)/

BUT! as the Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works arc get adapted into anime series on 2015, Good Smile Company released the renewal of Saber Figma, with a fixed proportion and more detailed articulation compared to the older version.

I quickly pre-ordered her as soon as the order opened.  After all, Saber was one of my favorite heroine since i was sunk to the Anime world.
So here it is, Figma series 227, Fate/Stay Night Saber 2.0 review! (=w=)/

First lets start from the box. Just like the other newer Figma box, the color theme was pretty plain..

Colored only with a plain blue and black, some text, and logo. The box still come with the figure images on both side, and some action pose on the back side.

Now, moving to the figure

Saber 2.0 come with three face plate which are serious, shouting, and embrassed expression. Some exhangeable hand, swaying hair part for more realistic action pose, and two pair of weapon.

Also, her armor are pretty shiny! Good job to Good Smile Company (>w<)b

Yes,i think most of you already know about this, but i'll mention it again. Saber's true identity was the legendary King from Britain. Arturia Pendragon, or commonly known as King Arthur.

as for the question about why is He a She, well.. originally Saber was planned to be a male, before the developer decided to change the design and gender. Male version design of Arthur can be found on Fate/Prototype franchise, and early design before Fate/Stay Night. ("=w=)/

Let's move to the weapon

This is one of Saber's iconic holy sword, Excalibur. This sword stays in transparent form during most of Saber's fight on the series to conceal Saber's identity. Because enemy would be able to figure out that Saber was the legendary King Arthur once they seen the holy sword.

It is too bad that this Figma doesn't come with the invisible sword.. ( "-__-)

In the Fate series, Excalibur's power was tremendous. As Saber unleashed her ultimate attack. Excalibur would discharge a huge beam of light and destroy everything in front of the slashing direction.

Moving to the sword's scabbard

Excalibur's scabbard,Avalon was also included in the Figma.

Although it was originally used only to sheath the sword. Avalon played a big role on the original ending of Fate/Stay Night as it have a high regeneration ability and able to do a complete healing no matter how the wielder got fatally injured. It can also be used to reflect enemy's attack.

Both the sword and the scabbard was perfectly sculpted and colored. Even the small text written from Fairy letters that engraved on both item are applied with a great detail.

Next, lets move to Caliburn, the second sword. (/OwO)/

Although the name was almost identical,Caliburn was a different sword than Excalibur. Based on the Fate series, Caliburn is a sword that was pulled out from the stone by King Arthur and choose him as a King of Britain, although based on the another lore, it was Excalibur instead of Caliburn,

Caliburn and its scabbard was more beautifully decorated than Excalibur and Avalon. But as the sword that used to symbolize King's glory and authority, it was less durable and broken during one of the King Arthur's war. After that, the fairy create Excalibur the substitute for King Arthur's sword. (This history was based on Fate series)

Even though Caliburn have less durability, its power was also amazing. In the Fate/Stay Night's first ending, Saber are able to cut 7 out of the 9 life that the enemy's Berserker have with a single thrust.

Comparison with the older Saber Zero Figma

althought its wasn't very visible on the photo, Saber 2.0 was a little bit taller compared to the other Saber Figma that was released before Saber 2.0.

Well with a little bit of playing with pose and camera angle, they would look about on the same height.

As one of the long awaited Figma that i waited for a long time, Saber 2.0 clearly doesn't dissappoint me (even though she drained my wallet)

Well, thats the end of my review.. thanks for sparing time to read, feel free to comment and ask something (=w=)/
